NORTA Opportunity Conference for DBE/SBE

The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (NORTA) has over $30 million in open contracts for the capital program, and we are anticipating awarding over $50 million on upcoming projects within the next several months.
 

To ensure that disadvantaged and small businesses (DBE and SBE) have access to the economic opportunity these projects afford, the RTA is hosting an Opportunity Conference on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, at the RTA Canal Street Headquarters. RTA will provide information on upcoming projects:

Take advantage of this opportunity to get information about these upcoming projects, as well as information about the DBE/SBE program and the procurement process.

Bring your business cards, as prime contractors and subcontractors will be able to meet and greet.

Under the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, the RTA has set participation goals for contracts federally funded by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT). The RTA’s DBE Program is established in accordance with the provisions under 49 Code of Federal Regulation Part 26 and is a requirement of DOT as a condition of receiving federal assistance.

You may qualify for DBE certification if you meet this and other criteria: Your firm is at least 51% owned by a socially and economically disadvantaged individual (or individuals) who also controls the firm.

You may qualify for SBE certification if you meet this and other criteria: Your business is at least 51% owned by a person who is economically disadvantaged, regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender.
